Update: July 2024
Can it really be over halfway through the year? Already? Well, yes it can, and yes it is. It’s also indicative of how busy I’ve been that I’ve not - until now - had chance to update the blog. Well, that’s my excuse, anyway…
So, what have I been up to? Here’s a look at a few projects that have been keeping me busy…
National Museums Liverpool
One of the biggest projects I’ve worked on this year is the marketing campaign for “Bees - A Story of Survival” for NML. The exhibition was designed and produced by Wolfgang Buttress Studio and developed in collaboration with National Museums Liverpool. It is a story of 120 million years of adaptation and survival, and features a soundscape which connects you to a live beehive, constantly changing in response to the activity of the colony. You will discover the wonder of these tiny creatures through interactives, sculpture, projection and light.
My work encompassed print and digital, using the signature image from the exhibition as a constant. One of the most interesting parts of the campaign was a live poster site (well, two actually) with detachable seed packets, as you can see from the images below. A brilliant idea by Rachel and the rest of the NML team which I was delighted to help bring to life.
The exhibition runs until 5th May 2025 and can be found at World Museum, Liverpool. Go and see it!
In addition, I’ve also been working on a range of other campaigns and projects. Again, these encompass both print and digital, including social media templates, construction site hoardings and more besides. With such a diverse group of venues and subject matter, there’s little wonder NML’s strapline is ‘never dull’…
Alliance Manchester Business School
It’s a similar story with long-standing client AMBS, in that a mix of physical and digital projects have been keeping me busy all year. I recently had to deliver two exhibitions in two different Cities (in the same week!) which required some careful planning and logistics, not to mention some great help from long-standing supplier TSS. (thanks Tim!) I also worked on an exhibition installation at the Business School for International Women's Day.
Votex
Clients large or small all deserve the same attention. Or at least I think so! So when long standing friends who own an independent Volkswagen Group specialist garage wanted a brand update and a refreshed service reception, they got the same amount of effort as anyone else. I’m really pleased with the results, and a big thanks goes to Tunnicliffe Signs for the installation.
Port Sunlight Village Trust
Alongside the long-standing Port Sunlight Gazette design duties (29 issues (and counting!) since 2015) I’ve also designed a new visitor leaflet this year…
